Columbia Motorsports Park Rained Out August 16

Lake City, FL (August 16, 2008) Columbia Motorsports Park has rained out for August 16. The Southern Sportsman 50 will be rescheduled at another date. Sorry but Mother Nature decided no racing this weekend.

Southern Sportsman 50 this Weekend at Columbia
|
|
Lake City, FL (August 11, 2008) The Southern Sportsman come to town this Saturday, August 16, for 50 laps of Sportsman action. Also on the program will be the Late Models, V-8 Bombers, A & B Hornets, and Welter Weights.
Leading the points in the Southern Sportsman series is Patrick Thomas who knows Columbia Motorsports Park well since that was his home track for many years. "I love that track," said Thomas last weekend at Orlando SpeedWorld where he was driving another Sportsman car of a friend, "that track has always been good to me and I look forward to next Saturday."
Bart Weatherford runs second in points followed by Michael Soukup, Tom Raiser and Roger Welch. Completing the top ten are Duane Best, Jimmie Best, Steve Gainey, Jeff Padilla, and Mark Peterson. Also a number of Columbia's Sportsman are expected to race.
Pit gate will open at 2 pm with Southern Sportsman practice alone from 3 to 4 pm. Division practice will follow with qualifying for the Southern Sportsman 50 at 6:45 pm. Racing starts at
7:30 pm.
